Open Position: Water / Agricultural Associate
Griswold LaSalle Cobb Dowd & Gin LLP in Hanford, California, is seeking a water/agriculture
associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its dynamic environmental practice. This is an
excellent opportunity to join a thriving law firm that has been an integral part of the
California Central Valley for over 75 years.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic and substantive advice regarding various aspects of environmental law including agriculture, land use and development, oil and gas, water (SGMA), and zoning.
- Handle all aspects of environmental litigation in courts and with relevant government agencies.
- Research and analyze complex legal issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and various legal documents.
- Mentor junior associates and paralegals.
Qualifications Include:
- Solid knowledge of agricultural and water (SGMA) regulations and compliance.
- Experience with zoning laws a plus.
- Knowledge of court procedures and experience appearing in court and in relevant government agency hearings.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, oral advocacy, and oral presentation skills.
- Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Must be comfortable working autonomously and in a team.
- Experience acting as the lead attorney on strategic regulatory and defense matters.
- Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate degree (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school required.
- Member of the California State Bar in good standing required.
This is a full-time, exempt position with a pay range of $120,000-$150,000 and competitive
benefits package. The salary offered will be dependent on experience and skillset.

This is a full-time, exempt position starting at $40/hour. The salary will increase to $120,000 annually upon passing the California State Bar Exam and completion of your state bar registration and attorneys’ oath.
